Installation matters of centrifugal fan

Jul 12, 2023

1. The installation of the whole unit of the centrifugal fan should be placed directly on the foundation and leveled with pairs of inclined shims.
2. For centrifugal fans assembled on site, the cutting surface on the base should be properly protected and should not be rusted or operated. When the base is placed on the foundation, it should be leveled with pairs of inclined shims.
3. The bearing seat and the base should be tightly connected. The longitudinal unevenness should not exceed 0.2/1000, measured on the main shaft with a level, and the lateral unevenness should not exceed 0.3/1000, measured on the horizontal center plane of the bearing seat with a level.
4. Before grinding the bearing, the rotor axis and the casing axis should be corrected first, and the gap between the impeller and the air inlet and the gap between the main shaft and the shaft hole of the rear side plate of the casing should be adjusted to meet the requirements of the equipment technical documents.
5. When assembling the main shaft and the bearing, they should be inspected according to the requirements of the equipment technical documents. The interference between the bearing cover and the bearing should be 0.03-0.04 mm (measure the outer diameter of the bearing and the inner diameter of the bearing seat).
6. When assembling the fan casing, the position of the casing should be aligned with the rotor axis as the reference, and the axial and radial clearances between the impeller air inlet and the casing air inlet should be adjusted to the range specified in the equipment technical documents. At the same time, check whether the anchor bolts are tightened. If the clearance value is not specified in the equipment technical documents, the axial clearance should generally be 1/100 of the impeller outer diameter, and the radial clearance should be evenly distributed, and its value should be 1.5/1000~3/1000 of the impeller outer diameter (the larger value is taken for the smaller outer diameter). When adjusting, strive to make the clearance value smaller to improve the efficiency of the fan.
7. When aligning the fan, the misalignment of the fan shaft and the motor shaft: the radial positioning displacement should not exceed 0.05 mm, and the tilt should not exceed 0.2/1000.
8. For centrifugal fans assembled with rolling bearings, the misalignment of the bearing holes on the two bearing frames can be based on flexible rotation after the rotor is installed.
