What Causes the Overheating of Industrial Pressure Blower

Jun 03, 2025

1. Excessive Friction

One of the primary causes of overheating is excessive friction within the blower. This can occur in the bearings or between the impeller and the housing. For example, if the bearings are not properly lubricated, the metal-to-metal contact during rotation will generate more heat than normal. Worn-out bearings can also lead to increased friction and subsequent overheating. Similarly, an impeller that is misaligned or rubbing against the housing due to damage or improper installation can cause friction-induced overheating.

2. Overloading

When the industrial pressure blower is forced to operate beyond its rated capacity, it can overheat. This might happen if the system's resistance is lower than expected, causing the blower to move more air than it's designed for. For instance, if a ductwork system has a leak or a damper is stuck open, the blower has to work harder to maintain the pressure, resulting in overheating.

3. Poor Ventilation

The motor of the blower needs proper ventilation to dissipate heat. If the blower is installed in a confined space with insufficient air circulation, the heat generated by the motor cannot be effectively removed. This is especially a problem in high-power blowers where a significant amount of heat is produced during operation.

4. Electrical Issues

Faulty electrical components such as a short-circuit in the motor windings or an over-current situation can also lead to overheating. These electrical problems can increase the power consumption of the blower, causing it to generate more heat than it can handle.
