What is a centrifugal fan? Centrifugal fan features
Oct 26, 2023
A centrifugal fan is a passive machine that uses input mechanical energy to increase gas pressure and exhaust gas. Based on the principle of energy conversion into potential, a high-speed impeller is used to accelerate the gas, then decelerate, change the flow, and convert the power into potential. In a single-pole fan, the gas enters the impeller radially, changes to axial when passing through the impeller, and then enters the diffuser. In the diffuser, the gas changes the flow direction, causing a deceleration, and converts the power into load energy. The pressure increase mainly occurs in the impeller, and secondly in the diffusion process. In a multi-stage centrifugal fan, the recirculator allows the air to enter the next impeller, causing more pressure.
Casing: Made of thick steel plate, strong and reliable, can be divided into integrated and semi-enclosed types, easy to maintain.
Impeller: Consists of blades, curved front disc and flat front disc.
Motor rotor: Rotor balancing and rotor balancing should be done to ensure stable rotation and good performance.
Transmission system part: It is composed of main shaft bearing, rolling bearing box, roller bearing and belt pulley (or coupling).
Characteristics: The natural frequency of the basic equipment shall not exceed 1/3 of the ratio of the motor and fan speed, and the vibration speed of the fan when it is running should be more than 3 times the vibration speed of the fan when it is stationary.
Flexible connector: The fan inlet and outlet are connected to the air duct, and a flexible connector should be installed. The air inlet and outlet pipes and other equipment should be supported independently and supported by the foundation or other building components. The casing cannot bear the weight of other components.
